Thinking Outside the Box!

 Our aim is to provide an academic program for all students that is exciting and motivating in a competitive environment. Students will be provided an oppoutunity to test their knowledge and skills, performance abilities, and achieve recognition for academic excellence.

We offer the following events: Calculator Applications, Dictionary Skills, Editorial Writing, Impromptu Speaking, Listening, Maps-Graphs-Charts, Mathematics, Modern Oratory, Music Memory, Number Sense, One Act Play, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling.
Announcements
Invitational Meet
Lufkin Middle School will host an invitational meet on Saturday, Feburary 21, 2009. Events will begin at 9 a.m.
Math/Science Meet
Lufkin Middle School will participate in a Math/Science Meet hosted by Foster Middle School in Longview on December 6,2008. The meet will be from 8:00-11:30 a.m. with awards immediately following.
 Participating students will need to meet at LMS by 6:00 a.m. to travel to Longview.
Students must provide personal breakfast and lunch. A snack bar will be available at the meet.
Arrival back is dependant upon the length of the awards presentation. Estimated arrival around 2:30p.m.

Parents please fill out and return form that students will bring home or see attachment under file titled "parent letter for meet"
Practices
The following events will offer practices outside of Pride to accomadate the needs of students not placed in that particular Pride Class:
Modern Oratory- Wednesday mornings Room 627
Editorial Writing- Thursday mornings Room 627
Math and Number Sense- Wednesday afternoon until 5p.m. Room 818
Listening- Tuesday mornings Room 826
Dictionary Skills- Tuesday afternoon until 5p.m. Room 830
Social Studies- Thursday afternoon until 5 p.m. Room 830
Maps-Charts-Graphs &h Calculator Applications- Mon/Wed afternoon until 4:30 in CMC lab
Spelling- Monday afterschool in Choir Room 1
